Approved: Nasty Pig Briefs

An Unplanned, but Definitely Deserved Review.

I recently purchased a pair of the newly released briefs by the brand Nasty Pig. Originally, I bought them because I thought they were hot looking and the waistband was definitely suggestive. When they were delivered in the mail, I did not wear them out right away. I decided I wanted to wait until I went out to the bars or dancing to try them out.

Having just returned from my trip to New York City with Rich, Philip & Jerry, I have plenty to report on these undies!

For starters, they are really hot. I love the cut, fit and look. I received plenty of compliments on them, as I had them poking out the top of my jeans, while dancing my ass off at Stereo NYC (to the point that my jeans were practically falling down). Someone even (jokingly) asked if the name on the waistband was the brand or my nickname. Besides looks, they are some of the most comfortable underwear I have EVER worn. This is coming from the person with 2 dresser drawers full of underwear, so I am pretty well informed when it comes to new and popular styles. The Nasty Pig briefs are one of most well constructed pairs I have come across and the quality of fabric is top notch. They held up after a 12 hour dance marathon and felt like a fresh pair when I arrived back at our hotel room the next day.

If interested in a comfy and stylish (IMO) pair of low-rise briefs, I recommend you give Nasty Pig a try. They also come in trunks and jocks, which I will have to check those out too.

I am even more interested in their line of jeans, now. I wonder how they would be to wear out dancing.

Recovering: One Mighty Weekend, Part II - Friday

Friday was the first official day of the party weekend. By the time we woke up, the first pool party was already underway. The pool parties were held at the Buena Vista Palace, where we were staying. Luckily, our room was not facing the pool, so the music was not blaring through our window. By the time all of us were fully awake, we made our way downstairs.

Now, the pool parties were on Friday, Saturday & Sunday and were called Reunion. As we arrived to the pool area of the hotel, I could see why that was a fitting name. These pool parties were where all the One Mighty Weekend Alumni catch up with friends from all over that they had met previous years. It was definitely a Reunion. Since it was our first year, it was a little intimidating (at least for me), but we actually ran into a bunch of people we knew. I guess you don't have to be Alumni in order for it to be a Reunion!

We proceeded to down a few drinks, and were joined by the rest of the San Diego Crew: Kendall, Black Steve, Stan & White Steve. It was great to see them and catch up a bit. Unfortunately, Tropical Storm Barry was heading our way, so we decided to head back up to the room.

With the threat of downpour literally on the horizon, we had to make a choice: scrub going to Typhoon Lagoon or chancing getting caught in the storm to dance it up. As any self respecting Circuit Boys would do, we changed into other swimsuits (can't wear the same ones we were wearing at the hotel pool, now can we?) and put some shorts and tank tops on over them. Once we were all ready, we walked across the street to Downtown Disney, but didn't get far. A woman town car driver parked in front of the hotel offered to drive us all for a low fare. Score!

When we arrived at Typhoon Lagoon, the rain was starting to pick up, but we didn't let it phase us. Our thinking was so what if it rains, we will be in our swim suits. Once inside, we rented a locker and some towels, then stashed our street clothes in the locker and headed to the wave pool.

Okay. I have never been to a water park like this before, at least not one with a wave pool. It was one of the highlights of the weekend. It was a blast to just swim in anticipation of the next ten foot wave to come crashing down on you.

After a few of us played in the wave pool for a while, we decided to try the lazy river. It was fun and relaxing. By the time we made it all the way around we could hear the Thumpa Thumpa calling and were ready to dance!

The DJ spinning was Alyson Calagna. We have never heard her before, but have been told she was good. She is primarily an East Coast DJ. She was damn good. I thought she had the crowd going and gave us exactly what we wanted.

About half way through the party, the temperature dropped a bit and the rain started to hit harder. You might think that would end the party, but nope. The crowd of hot men in their little speedos and square-cut swim suits all just closed in on each other and we all used each other to keep warm. It got mighty friendly in that pile of wet, hot bodies. We later described it as being in a huge shower with a big group of super attractive men. It was a great party!

We even met some great guys there: Scott & Howie from Austin. Plus, we met up with our friend Newt, whom we originally met in Montreal, Mark & Rodney, whom we met at Long Beach Pride, and Matthew & Len, whom we know from Phoenix but don't get to see them that often. These parties are great to catch up with long distance friends.

As the party started to wrap up, we decided to beat the crowd and head out before the last song. Our town car driver agreed to pick us up and stayed true to her word of being there at the gate.

Back at the room, the guys got ready for after hours at Arabian Nights called Magic Journey. Rich and I decided to stay in the room for a bit to get some play time in before heading over ourselves.

The event space for the Magic Journey parties (again there is one each night) is pretty interesting. Arabian Nights is a dinner theater place that puts on shows with horses. For the parties, they put planks down over the dirt and raised a huge light system. The space was not small by any means, but damn. It was packed full when we got there. David Knapp was in command of the beats for this event. He is an awesome DJ and is climbing up my list of favorites. We danced the night away into the wee hours of the morning. Rich and I were the last to leave of our group, and were only an hour or so short of closing it out. But by this time, we were exhausted so we hopped back on the shuttle to the hotel and climbed into bed.

No point in completely wearing ourselves out. We have two more days to go!

Recovering: One Mighty Weekend, Part I - Pre-Party

So.... I am alive. That is saying something, right?

The SF Crew (sorry Jerry) and I have been going to several Circuit Parties since we started with The White Party: Palm Springs 2006. It became a quick routine that we each would 'push' a party to everyone. One Mighty Weekend was my first Party Push, which I first mentioned last fall.

Having now attended our first year's festivities, I am damn glad I pushed it to the group! We had an absolute awesome time. Sure, there were some hiccups that may have dissuaded other from partaking in some of the parties. Not us! We were going to do it all! And, we certainly did.

Here is a run through of our trip. I had a couple of days off of work before we left, so I was able to rest up before we go on the plane. It was really nice to just relax a bit. Come Wednesday, May 30th, Rich, Jerry and I all boarded our plane from Phoenix Sky Harbor. Now, we are on our way to a gay circuit event that just so happens to be at a primarily family focused theme park, Walt Disney World. This comes with a definite down side; our plane was filled with screaming kids that cried, played their noisy games and even threw up the entire flight. It was not our favorite part of the trip; let me tell you.

Anyway, we survive the four hour torture only to get to baggage claim and find Jerry and my bags were lost. Oy! Luckily, they knew exactly where they were and we were reunited with them later that night. It was still quite stressful to be on vacation and not have your bags.

Orlando, Florida. The first thing we all thought was it was really green and had a ton of little lakes everywhere. I could see why everything was so spread out on the map. It was noticeably more humid, especially coming from Phoenix. After dealing with our lost luggage, the three of us piled into a cab and headed to the host hotel, the Buena Vista Palace.

Apparently, the Buena Vista Palace had just complete renovated their rooms and were just finishing up on their lobby. This hotel was beautiful. The rooms were decorated with a modern look but still had a comfortable feel.

We were the first of our group to arrive. Bernard got in later in the day. The three of us decided to stroll over to Downtown Disney and grab a bite to eat, since it was just across the street from hotel. Once Bernard arrived, we went back to Downtown Disney to an offset called Pleasure Island. This is where all the Adult dance clubs and stuff are within the parks. We all walked around and grabbed a drink. At one point, this girl started hitting on me. Oy! She eventually pieced things together and asked if I were gay. I confirmed it, but that did not stop her. She then tried to convince me to give her a chance to convert me to the other team. Sorry, that will never happen. I know where I stand. But, it did not end there. Shortly, this guy came out of nowhere. He claimed to be her brother. After a few more tries by this girl to try to seduce me, her brother asks me is I am top or a bottom. Oh My God, this is not happening. He gets into the mix by trying to pick me up to. At one point he had proposed that the three of us all go to their hotel room and mess around. That's why I think they were not really related, although they were from Kentucky. Anyway, you may be asking where my friends and partner were during all of this. They were sitting right across from this watching and at some points telling me I should do it! Thanks, guys! There was no way, although the boy was pretty cute. LOL

After we managed to not get a last drink before the little stands serving tropical concoctions closed, we quickly departed to sexual starved twins and headed back to our hotel. We all headed down to the hot tub for a bit and mingled with the other early attendees, before calling it a night.

Philip, Tony and DJ (Dallas Justin) all flew in the next morning. After waiting for all parties to settle into the rooms, we headed out to the Magic Kingdom. Since we knew the parties would take up most of our time while in Orlando, we decided to head out a day earlier and hit one of the parks. We all agreed on the Magic Kingdom. It had the most rides and they would be more familiar to everyone.

After being totally confused by how the shuttle system worked from the Buena Vista Palace, we walked over to Downtown Disney and jumped onto one of their buses. We took the bus to one of the Disney Resorts, Disney's Contemporary Resort. This was a pretty cool looking hotel. I had thoughts of a modern Noah's Ark when I saw it. Once inside, we hopped on the Monorail. Little did we know, we were going the wrong way. Oh well, it would add to the adventure. We were able to see two more of the Disney Resorts, so it was all cool. The other two equally intriguing hotels were Disney's Polynesian Resort & the Grand Floridian.

Once we arrived at the station for the Magic Kingdom, we picked up our tickets at Will Call, and were on our way. The park was pretty much the same as Disneyland in California, with a few changes. The one change that I was most upset about was the lack of the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Now, I guess they just built the new ride over in Disney's Animal Kingdom called Expedition Everest, which is supposed to be the same thing. We never made it to that park, so I was bummed about missing that ride. Oh well. More reason to make it out to Anaheim to visit Disneyland.

One of the high points of the day was getting Rich to ride two rollercoasters. He agreed to go on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain. I also love to see the changes made to Pirates of the Caribbean to incorporate pieces of the movies, such as Captain Jack Sparrow. All-in-all, everyone seemed to have a great time. After some quick shopping, we headed back to the Buena Vista Palace to relax a bit before going out.

The plan was to go to Mannequins, the dance club at Pleasure Island which has their gay night on Thursdays, but we had heard about the lines being hell, so we hung out in the room for a bit. We eventually made it down there but didn't try to get into the club.

After a while and a couple of drinks later, our group got the attention of a guy walking by from New Jersey. He was pretty drunk, but seemed nice. He said he was there for the weekend with his brother, who is also gay. Long story short, he got drunker and seemed to have been dealing with some internal issues, which ended with us sending him away due to his increased physical aggressiveness.

Next, more hot tub with more guys. Met some people who know of some friends of Rich and me. It was kind of weird, but expected. It was a nice relaxing end of a pretty full day. Tomorrow would be the official start of the party weekend. Oh boy.

Countdown: One Mighty Weekend!

Well, I finished the work week today happy. I am now on vacation! Woo Hoo!!

Rich, Jerry, Philip, Bernard, Tony and I are all headed to Orlando, this next week. One Mighty Weekend and GayDayS at Walt Disney World are almost upon us. We will be joined by, what it seems like, most of the gay community across the United States! Since I first started to push this party as our big event of the summer, we have been meeting more and more people who are attending the festivities along with us. The above mentioned are our core group of friends, but we will have many more people in the adjoining rings.

The San Diego Crew are growing to be more centralized in the whole scheme of things. There are a few people from here in Phoenix that we are friends with whom are going. Hopefully, accompanying each other to these events will fortify our friendships. It never hurts to have more friends.

Also, we have recently been meeting more Circuit Party friends. So far with the Circuit, it seems like you meet one person (Lawrence!), who introduces you to this person, who introduces you to that person. It can go on and on. Then, you find out that all those people know most of the others you met, but not all in the same way. The web of social networking can get confusing, to say the least.

Now to mention all the guys we have been chatting with about what to expect at GayDayS, One Mighty Weekend or even just Walt Disney World and Florida in general. Everyone has been so forthcoming with vital information. It has been great! It certainly helps build all the hype for next week.

I know this is going to be one of the best parties we have been to, yet!

Stay Tuned.
